PROJECT SUMMARY

TANKS, RANGERS and BOATS are coding apps aimed at introducing learners to computer programming at a young age.  In addition, the project also intends to enable learners to make informed career choices and consider software programming as a career.  The long-term vision of this project is to increase the number of software developers in the country, which will be crucial soon with the growing dependence on software and technology taking into account the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

MARKET/NEED

These apps address the need in communities where computer software might not be easily accessible to enable students to learn computer programming at a young age.  The primary education sector will benefit greatly from this app, allowing all students regardless of geographic area to be able to learn basic software and coding skills.

BENEFITS

The benefit of the apps is by introducing learners in communities where computer access is limited, these learners are encouraged to consider computer science as a career choice, giving the young generation of South Africa the chance to enhance their skill sets.
