The Nelson Mandela University Innovation Office team celebrated Mandela Day by donating much needed supplies to Love Story, a Port Elizabeth based relief organization; as well as volunteering at the BOATS Powered by Tangibl™ Mandela Day Tournament.

Love Story assists the Nelson Mandela Bay community through feeding schemes, education programmes, clothing distribution and poverty alleviation. Love Story welcomes assistance in the form of time, resource or finance. Contact sarah@lovestory.org.za for more information on how you can get involved.

Approximately 250 students from various local primary schools went head-to-head at the BOATS Powered by Tangibl™ Mandela Day Tournament. BOATS Powered by Tangibl™, the sequel to the TANKS Powered by Tangibl™ application (app), is a mobile coding app aimed at introducing learners to basic programming principles while educating them on the effects of plastic pollution in the ocean.

Each member of the winning team from Moregrove Primary School received a Samsung smartphone and a meal voucher from Something Good. The top schools walked away with TANKS Powered by Tangibl™ coding kits to use in class.
