NMMU students develop Moto Mods™

A group of NMMU students are participating in the “Transform the Smartphone Challenge”, hosted by Motorola, Indiegogo, Verizon and Lenovo. As part of the challenge, they’ve designed a Moto Mod™, which is a modular electronics device that attaches onto Motorola’s new smartphone, the Moto Z, as an accessory to give the smartphone extra functionality.

The group progressed to the second round of the international competition and are required to raise funds to develop and distribute their product. Ten of the best-funded projects on Indiegogo, an online platform for entrepreneurial projects, will get a chance to present their idea to Lenovo Capital for further funding and potential distribution of their product by Verizon.
